What turns up, and what it looks like.

Two instruments to choose between, and an examiner who has done this in front of a camera before.

Pick your look

The two instruments shoot completely differently. Worth deciding early, because it changes the framing.

Stoelting

Pens, moving chart paper, ink

The one everybody pictures. Physical styluses writing on a rolling chart — it reads instantly on camera and needs no explanation to an audience. Two working units.

Best for Period pieces, drama, anything where the chart is the shot

What examiners actually use now. Less theatrical, more contemporary, and easier to shoot in a tight space or a modern set.

Best for Studio formats, creator channels, brand films

What the examiner does

Arrives set up
Kit tested before your call time. We do not eat into the schedule getting ready.
Works to your questions
You send them ahead. We tell you which will play and which will not, and we do not change them on the floor.
Comfortable on camera
The examiner can deliver to camera, take direction, and do another take without the whole thing falling apart.
Explains the instrument
If the format needs someone to talk the audience through what the traces mean, that is part of the booking.
Handles the contributor
Keeps them calm, keeps it moving, and flags to you straight away if someone is not in a fit state to carry on.
