Lie detector hire for productions

Lie detector hire means two things arriving together: a working polygraph instrument and a qualified examiner to run it. We do not rent the machine on its own, because a polygraph without someone trained to operate it produces a chart nobody can read and a scene that will not cut.

What a hire includes

The instrument, the examiner, and the set-up time before your call. You choose between the analogue rig — pens writing in ink on rolling chart paper — and the digital Lafayette LX6, depending on how you want it to look on camera.

Bookings run from two-hour slots up to full shoot days. Full days are usually better value once you are testing more than three people.

What it costs to get wrong

The two things that sink a polygraph booking are questions written badly and a schedule that leaves no room. Vague or compound questions produce nothing usable on the chart, and a contributor rushed straight into an examination produces a flat trace.

Send the questions before the shoot. We will tell you which will move a trace and which will not, which is a cheaper conversation at brief stage than on the floor.

Questions we get asked

Can I hire just the polygraph without an examiner?
No. The instrument only produces usable results in the hands of someone trained to fit the sensors, run the questions and read the chart. Every hire includes an examiner.
How much does lie detector hire cost?
It depends on the format, the number of contributors and the location. Two-hour slots, half days and full days are all available. Send a brief and you will get a quote within a working day.
How far in advance do I need to book?
A week is comfortable and a couple of days is often possible. Ask even if it is tomorrow — we would rather say no quickly than have you not ask.
Do you provide written results?
Not on entertainment bookings. These are booked as entertainment: no written report is issued and nothing from the examination should be presented on screen as proof.
