Television advert

Television advert (Commercial) — a polygraph examiner and lie detector hired for television & streaming. Shot on the analogue instrument, for period accuracy on camera.

Commercials hire the polygraph for its silhouette. The analogue instrument is a recognisable object, and that recognition is doing the creative work before a word of voiceover.

For period accuracy that has to be the real thing — a modern sensor box in a scene set decades ago is the kind of detail that pulls an audience out of a thirty-second spot.
